Bathroom Sinks on a Budget

If you are designing an entirely new bathroom suite and want to stick to a budget, choosing the right washbasin is one way you can save money. There is a wealth of different designs and finishes to choose from, but at the cheaper end of the market the range will usually consist of simple ceramic designs in white.

For anyone stuck for space in their bathroom, a corner sink, usually measuring between 40cm and 50cm, is very useful and will normally retail at the same price as other standard models. This is the ideal option if you are also trying to fit a shower cubicle into a small bathroom.

The most common sinks you will find in bathroom showrooms are the oval-bowl and pedestal designs, but also to be considered are the wall mounted sinks that will give an added sense of space in your bathroom.

However, the downside to this style of bathroom sink is that it will reveal the pipe work unless you go to a lot of trouble and expense to hide it. If you were looking for a more natural-looking finish, another option would be the recessed basins that are fitted into the top of a unit with bathroom cupboards underneath. Sinks that come in this type of style usually sell at a higher price, but if you do plan to add some bathroom furniture to your room, it will work out cheaper and be more convenient to buy the two together as a complete fitting.

As always, prices will vary dramatically between different suppliers, so shopping around could save you a lot of money in the long run.
